CACI unveils seventh Wealth of the Nation report

LONDON - CACI has released its seventh annual Wealth of the Nation report, which profiles the income of the UK's 1.7m postcodes, showing the wealthiest and poorest postcodes in the UK.

For the first time CACI has also included Census data, allowing a detailed analysis of demographics, including ethnicity and marital status.

The report shows that the national average household income is £29,374. The areas with the highest levels of average household income include parts of West Malling, Hammersmith, Fleet and Northhampton.

The places with the lowest average household income tend to be in the North, including Middlesborough, Doncaster, Glasgow and Sunderland.

There are several differences from last year's report. New-build area West Malling appears in the top 20 for the first time.

The report also shows that married couples are 50% more likely to live in wealthy streets. Cohabiting couples tend to be just as well off, with 60% found in wealthy postcodes.

But couples who live together and have children tend to be found on poorer streets.
