Registered users of the so-called 4oD service, which launches on 6 December, will have up to 30 days to access repeats of current shows such as Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares, Hollyoaks and 8 Out Of 10 Cats.
The broadcasters said it would also make available hundreds of hours of back catalogue programmes, such as Drop The Dead Donkey.
The launch follows an agreement signed with ntl Telewest last month make C4's programming available on demand on cable and agreement with the soon to be launched BT Visio.
Users will be charged between 99p to £1.99p for content, with two pieces available each week free, it said.
C4 said it was in advanced negotiations to acquire the on-demand rights to key acquired series, having already secured the rights to a shows such as Desperate Housewives. It has signed licensing agreements with almost 100 independent production companies including Endemol, RDF Media and Talkback Thames to supply home-grown content.
