Scotland's "homecoming year" officially opened this weekend with a series of events to mark the 250th anniversary of poet Robert Burns.
Glasgow City Chambers was illuminated with the story of Burns, while village locations such as Burns Cottage, The Brig O' Doon and The Auld Kirk were brought to life in a one-off extravaganza.
