Burley takes over MD role at NatMags

The National Magazine Company has named Jessica Burley as its managing director.

Burley, currently the chief operating officer of NatMags' ACP-NatMag weekly magazine joint venture, will move over to NatMags' core business to run its 16 magazines.

Burley, who joined NatMags in 1995 after spells at the Daily Express, Mirror Group and IPC, will report to Duncan Edwards, the chief executive of NatMags.

Edwards, who was promoted from managing director to chief executive in May, said the growth of NatMags, through joint ventures with ACP and Rodale, had driven the need to build a stronger management team focused on its core business.

He said: "Our business has grown substantially over the past five years and we now publish double the number of titles we had in 2000."

Burley will take up her new role once her replacement has been found.
