Burger King in US ad account talks with Y&R and Grey

NEW YORK - Burger King is in talks with Young & Rubicam and Grey Global about its US advertising account, which could lead to the first changes to its roster since it was sold by Diageo to venture capitalists.

Burger King is reported to have put its $300m (拢192m) US ad account up for review in December, following its sale to Texas Pacific Group for $1.5bn.

The burger giant only consolidated the account into Interpublic Group of Companies-owned agencies in July. Media planning and buying was moved from Bcom3's MediaVest into MediaFirst International and Deutsch won most of the creative work from D'Arcy.

Burger King had been reported to be talking to Y&R, owned by WPP, and Publicis Groupe's Saatchi & Saatchi.

Responding to a report on Adweek.com that it had added Y&R to the roster, Burger King issued a statement saying it is in talks with Y&R and Grey Global Group. According to a story on Dow Jones, Burger King said it had not yet made any roster changes.

The company is also still in talks with its main ad agencies, Amoeba in Santa Monica and Deutsch.
