Burberry's Christmas ad re-creates 'Billy Elliot' with Romeo Beckham

The UK ad features a T. Rex soundtrack and a roster of celebrities

LONDON — Burberry has recreated the opening scenes of "Billy Elliot" for its UK Christmas campaign, featuring celebrities involved with the stage and TV adaptations. As in opening scene of the film, the ad kicks off with a boy putting T. Rex's "Cosmic Dancer" on the record player, then jumping on the bed.

A host of celebrities are then shown jumping on the bed, kicking off with the star of last year's campaign, Romeo Beckham; Elton John, composer of the stage soundtrack; Julie Walters, who starred in the film; "Downton Abbey" star Michelle Dockery; James Cordon; Naomi Campbell; Rosie Huntington-Whiteley; James Bay and George Ezra.

The ad marks the 15th anniversary of "Billy Elliot," and Burberry will be making a £500,000 ($760,000) donation to two charities, Places2Be and the County Durham Community Foundation. Both are based in County Durham, where the film is set.

The stars involved all donated their fees to the charities.
