Bungey to step down from Bates to focus on Cordiant

Michael Bungey, the chairman and chief executive of advertising company Bates Worldwide, will step down in the next year to focus on his overall role within parent company Cordiant Communications.

LONDON (Brand Republic) – Michael Bungey, the chairman and chief executive of advertising company Bates Worldwide, will step down in the next year to focus on his overall role within parent company Cordiant Communications.

Bungey will most likely be replaced by Jean de Yturbe, currently chairman of Bates Europe. De Yturbe will also work on developing CCG United, a project aimed at marketing Cordiant’s other services, such as PR and design, to existing Bates clients.

Ian Smith, group president of Bates in New York, will take on Cordiant’s e-commerce strategy as chairman and chief executive of CCG.XM.
