Buena Vista International will be giving away branded space
hoppers, hula hoops and dressing gowns to support the UK release of its
film, Monsters Inc, in a campaign that kicks off in February.
The film company has called on Award (TP) International to develop a
range of premiums which will be available through magazine competitions
and online activity, supported by TV ads. Exact details of planned
partnerships are being kept under wraps.
Award (TP) International has also sourced children's wear and branded it
with Monsters Inc corporate badging, which will be sold at a range of
retail outlets, as well as being given away as part of the promotional
push.
"Launch premiums are key for the marketing of the movie and with a
creative concept like Monsters Inc there is plenty of scope for some fun
ideas," said BVI marketing executive Emma Lawrence.
The animated film features the voices of Billy Crystal, John Goodman and
Steve Buscemi, and has already proved a box office hit in the US, with
ticket sales reaching $63.5 million (£45 million) to take
it to the number spot at the box office.
