Richard Taylor joins Egg in the newly created role of head of UK brand communications from Budweiser in the US, where he was international marketing director.
Reporting to UK managing director Jerry Toher, he will liaise with group marketing director Nick Cross and will have overall responsibility for the brand's relationship with ad agency Mother.
It is thought one of Taylor's first tasks will be to oversee the introduction of a campaign to replace Egg's "Brilliant Industries" TV work. The current ads, which include the "la la fingers" execution, were Mother's first work for the brand and launched in April last year. New TV work is expected to break around Easter.
His appointment follows changes to Cross' role last year. Cross now covers global marketing, reflecting the brand's plans for worldwide expansion.
Taylor joined Budweiser in the US as manager of international creative in 1999 and oversaw campaigns including "Whassup", "Real men of genius" and "True". Prior to that he was brand manager for Budweiser and Budweiser Ice in the UK.
Egg, which is owned by Prudential, has around two million customers in the UK.
