BT Openworld campaign stars Ellen Macarthur

Solo yachtswoman Ellen Macarthur and her parents are the stars of BT Openworld's latest campaign, breaking today (Thursday). The 30-second ad aims to demonstrate that anything is possible on the internet. It starts with a middle-aged couple enjoying a quiet day at home when they receive a strange e-mail reading: 'HHHHiii MMMMuuuummmm aaannndddd DDDDDDaaaadddd'. They seem to know exactly what this means and reply: 'Bit rough?'. The ad cuts to the 'Kingfisher' tossing around in rough sea. In the cabin, Ellen Macarthur is struggling with the keyboard of her laptop. She can only reply to her parents' enquiry with 'YYYYYYYYYYeeeeeeeeeeessssss'. The TV campaign will run for the rest of the year supported by print work. Creative is by Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO and media is handled through the Allmond Partnership.
