Brown joined IPC in 1997 and became the company's first marketing director. She is credited with creating IPC's marketing department. Brown takes over from Caroline Ward at the TV listings division, which houses magazines such as TV Times and What's on TV.
Brown has also taken over board responsibility for IPC's content and licensing division from Ward.
Ward has moved over to head up IPC Connect, the women's weeklies division and home to Woman's Own and celebrity title Now, following the announcement that Linda Genower is leaving the company after 20 years.
Crace, who retains her role as IPC Advertising managing director takes over responsibility for Wallpaper from IPC editorial director Mike Soutar, to allow him to focus on the publisher's ambitious launch programme, announced earlier this year.
Auton was appointed chief executive of IPC two weeks ago, following the departure of Sly Bailey to newspaper group Trinity Mirror at the end of last year.
Auton was previously managing director of IPC's Country and Leisure Media division, publisher of Horse & Hound and Country Life. She has been replaced by Evelyn Webster, who has been promoted from publishing director of IPC's country and equestrian titles.
Following Brown's appointment, IPC's divisional marketing directors -- Sam Phillips, Helen Farquhar, Jemima Ransome, Niall McKinney and Angela O'Farrell -- will now report to the managing directors of their respective publishing divisions.
Amanda Chester, IPC's direct marketing director, will report to Evelyn Webster and Andrew Horton, IPC's content and licensing director, will report to Brown.
