The appointment comes as the company, which owns similar services in six countries around the world, looks to put greater emphasis on a unified global marketing strategy.
Brooklyn Brothers in New York already works with the company in the US, creating advertising for its Knowledge Generation Bureau service - the US equivalent of 118 118.
The agency will now create all global ad campaigns for the company as well as local market advertising for its directory enquiries services.
WCRS, the incumbent on the account in the UK, will remain on the company's roster but will only handle advertising for the UK's text-a-question service. A spokesman for 118 118 said that there were no plans to advertise this service further in the near future.
He added: "We have formed a great relationship with Brooklyn Brothers and they are putting some great work together for us.
"We were with WCRS for a long time but we've reached the stage where we need to respond to the fact that we have a global business."
VCCP also remains on the 118 118 roster, according to 118 118, but has yet to produce any work for the company.
