He was previously global marketing director for rum products at Seagram distillers, including the Captain Morgan brand, having joined in 1994. He held various roles at the company, including category brand manager for whiskey in the US. He joined Britvic in October 2002 as director of brands marketing.
Prior to Seagram, he was senior brand manager for Batchelors foods and brand manager for Batchelors instant soups at Unilever.
A spokesman for Britvic confirmed that Collins would leave the firm "by the end of the September", but was not able to confirm whether he had another job to go to.
Collins was expected to spearhead an extended push for Britvic's Gatorade still drink in the UK.
Last year, Britvic announced plans to expand Gatorade's UK presence by making it available in vending machines in sports and leisure outlets. The product is already the world's most popular sports drink.
Earlier this year, Britvic launched a series of premium range of 100% fresh fruit juices. Britvic Squeezed Orange Juice and Britvic Pressed Apple Juice were presented to the on-trade market in January.
