Australia and New Zealand imported 65% more British TV year on year in 2008. Together with Europe and other Rest of World territories, these regions accounted for 78% of completed programme sales, up 20% on 2007.

The biggest recipient of UK TV continues to be the US. It is responsible for 36% of total export revenue which was an 11% increase on 2007 to £350m. This was partly due significant revenue contributions from DVD and licensing.

Licensing of television brands for merchandising and other purposes accounted for 43% of the increase in total revenue, rising 66% to £215m. Co-productions however decreased by 28% to £41m.
