British Library tidies up its online shelves

The British Library has relaunched its site and reorganised more than 5,000 pages of content.

The site (www.bl.uk) holds a vast range of data and is used as an online resource by teachers, students and the public.

The national institution used agency Percussion Software's Rhythmyx Enterprise Content Management (ECM) system to restructure the site and consolidate several others into it. This includes management of its 1,000-page learning site.

The software separates content management from its delivery, so content can be reused and published to multiple sites.

The next project will involve the reorganisation of the British Library's corporate web site.
