The Golden League is part of the World Athletics Tour and comprises six meetings organised by the International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF). A jackpot of $1m is available for athletes who win their event at all six meetings.

Following live coverage of the Golden League meetings in Oslo and Rome, British Eurosport will broadcast the final three rounds of the season in Paris, Zurich and Brussels.

Athletes in contention for the 2009 jackpot include Russian pole vault champion Yelena Isinbayeva, Ethiopian middle  distance specialist Kenenisa Bekele and American 400m runner Sanya Richards.

Last month, Eurosport picked up Setanta's rights to show the rest of golf's 2009 PGA Tour.
