Uber execs interrogated by French police over ‘illicit’ behaviour

Uber executives in France have been arrested by police and are being questioned over "illicit" behaviour. Thibaud Simphal, Uber's director general and Pierre-Dimitri Gore Coty, director for Western Europe were arrested yesterday, according to The Telegraph.

The arrests follow backlash to the service launching in France, with strikes in Paris and in Cannes last week, which both resulted in violence. The French police raided the Paris office of the company in March, seizing documents, computers and phones.

Health insurer Vitality criticized for using an app linked to Facebook

Privacy campaigners have criticised health insurer Vitality after it informed customers that they needed to use Move, the Facebook-owned health app, to take advantage if a free cinema ticket deal.

According to campaigners, it is not made clear that the app is owned by Facebook and therefore customers would not know to check the T&C’s to see that data from the app is shared with the company.
