Twitter moots 10,000 character limit
Twitter is considering extending its 140-character limit to a significantly higher 10,000 characters as part of plans to attract new users.
According to a report in Re/code, the social network is building a new feature to let users tweet lengthier content - the same character limit as its existing Direct Messages service – with a launch date set toward the end of the first quarter of this year.
The report cited sources "familiar with the company’s plans", and said that the new service is being referred to internally as "Beyond 140".

VW brand boss sorry for ‘dieselgate’ while unveiling electric cars
Volkswagen head of passenger brand Herbert Diess used CES in Las Vegas to apologise for the company’s emissions scandal, while proving its commitment to become a "new Volkswagen" by unveiling two new electric cars – the e-Golf Touch and Budd-E.
VW launched the two electric cars at CES 2016 in Las Vegas – one an actual vehicle, the other a concept car. The e-Golf Touch is an all-electric fully voice-controlled version of its flagship Golf, while the Budd-E is an electric microbus concept.
Diess said: "For more than 60 years Volkswagen has been at home in the US. The issue with diesel engines is nothing to be proud of, we disappointed… the American people, for which I am truly sorry."
