Bray takes top role at DDB Europe

LONDON - Michael Bray has been named as the new president of the Omnicom Group-owned agency DDB Europe, succeeding Herve Brossard, who has been promoted to the role of vice-chairman of DDB Worldwide.

Bray was previously president of international brands, a role he was promoted to in March 2000. He will remain based in London. Bray's successor will be named shortly.

James Best has also been been given the role of chief people officer, in addition to his current title of global chief strategic officer. The chief people officer role is a new and global role, which will see the London-based Best develop new policies for developing, attracting and retaining talent within the agency.

As vice-chairman of DDB Worldwide, Brossard is charged with expanding existing client relationships and will work closely with regional presidents. He also retains his role as chairman of DDB France.

All three men will report to Ken Kaess, president and CEO of DDB Worldwide. Kaess said: "These new appointments will further enhance relationships between the agency and its clients, and the agency and its people."

DDB Worldwide is the second largest advertising network in the world. Some of its most famous ads include the Budweiser "Whassup" campaign, created by DDB Chicago, and the award-winning Volkswagen campaign "Fun on the outside", created by the London agency BMP DDB.
