Bratz plots kids' fashion TV show

Fashion doll brand Bratz is launching a TV show as its battle with Mattel-owned Barbie continues.

Targeting nine- to 14-year-olds, Bratz Design Academy will first be broadcast on Nickelodeon in October.

The show will be backed by a TV, print and online advertising campaign.

The programme, which will run for six weeks, features teams of youngsters taking part in fashion challenges, with their efforts being appraised by a panel of well-known figures.

Each week contestants will be eliminated, with the eventual winners travelling to Los Angeles to help work on the latest line of Bratz dolls for the UK market.
