BRANDING: Superbrands in hunt for UK's 52 'coolest' brands

Superbrands, the organisation that promotes the discipline of branding, has embarked on a project to identify the nation's 52 'coolest' brands.

The project is called Cool BrandLeaders and it will unveil the winners as part of a book launch in mid-August.

Those brands that make it into the book will be chosen by an independent council of experts including copywriters, marketing directors, managing directors and celebrities, including TV presenter Dermot O'Leary.

According to a spokesman for Superbrands, diversity is at the crux of the project with brands such as MTV appearing next to the likes of Asahi beer.
