Branding: Orangina revives smaller bottles

Drinks manufacturer AG Barr is aiming to capitalise on the heritage of its soft-drink brand Orangina by reintroducing its classic 250ml glass bottle variety to the UK.

The 250ml size was dropped in the UK in the late 90s by then-owner Pernod-Ricard, which opted for a standard 330ml version.

However, the smaller size was retained in France, and AG Barr is keen to tap what it claims is the affection consumers have developed for it while visiting the country.

Tesco and Waitrose will sell four-packs of the 250ml glass bottles, while single bottles will be sold in hotels, restaurants and cafes.
