BRANDING: Disney Channel reveals identity for sport strand

The Disney Channel has unveiled a visual identity for Disney Channel Sport, a new strand of sport programming aimed at linking the Disney brand more closely with sport.

Disney Channel Sport launches at the end of this month, with the aim of capitalising on the build-up to the World Cup.

It will air on The Disney Channel and consist of sports shows such as the Mascot Cup, a send-up of serious football shows, featuring the mascots of Premiership teams playing penalty shoot-outs.

The idents for Disney Channel Sport were created by design and marketing agency Mainframe and feature three moving footballs, which form the classic Disney mouse logo.

Mainframe has also created branding and graphics for the Mascot Cup.

These have been transferred onto merchandising such as football shirts.
