BRANDING: DfES picks Cimex to create portal for young people

The Department for Education and Skills (DfES) has appointed Cimex to create the name, branding and content for the government's definitive web site for teenagers.

Codenamed the Young Person's Portal (YPP), the site is intended to be the first port of call for 13- to 19-year-olds wanting information.

It will contain facts on anything a teenager might want to know about services provided for them by the government and by non-governmental organisations in the voluntary and private sectors. It covers topics such as health, work, education and travel.

The design of the site will be as user-friendly as possible, and Cimex has been briefed to make it look like a teen portal rather than a government web site. The site is scheduled to launch in the autumn.

Cimex previously built the teacher.net portal for the DfES.
