The range comprises six products. Three are barbecue sauces, in Original Bud, Bud Beechwood Smoked and Bud Honey variants. The marinades are Bud Basting Sauce, Bud Mild & Tangy Wing and Bud Hot & Spicy Wing.
All the products are packaged in Budweiser-style PET bottles and contain between 5% and 15% Budweiser beer.
Budweiser manufacturer Anheuser-Busch is teaming up with fine-food distributor RH Amar for the roll-out, which will begin in the UK in March.
The brand is aiming to take a significant slice of the barbecue foods market, which Mintel and the National BBQ Association estimated to be worth £300m in 2006. It will compete against brands such as HP and Heinz and another alcohol extension, Jack Daniel's Barbecue Sauce.
RH Amar has secured listings for the products in Asda, Somerfield and Sainsbury's.
At £2.49 for a 400g bottle, Budweiser sauces will be at the premium end of the market. The plan is to push the range via experiential work jointly run by Anheuser-Busch and RH Amar.
