Branding: Brand in the news - Pot Noodle

Pot Noodle is scrapping a two-year, £20m ad campaign focusing on healthier credentials. Am I the only one who missed this activity?

With Google's help, I learned from Unilever's website that the brand has reduced fat by 5% (from what?), salt by 28% (OMG!) and upped its veg content.

So where was this big health splash? Cynical me suspects that this communication from Pot Noodle HQ relating to the campaign being scrapped coincided, uncannily, with the Edinburgh Festival, scene of Pot Noodle, The Musical, and heralds a new student year.

I applaud Pot Noodle. Yet again, it has grabbed headlines and seized public debate, and I, for one, now know that Pot Noodles are slightly less bad for me than I previously thought.
