Communicating, promoting and developing the value of a product or service.

What would you be if you weren't a brand manager?

An entrepreneur. I have always wanted to run my own business.

What advice would you give someone starting their marketing career today?

Take time to really get to know your business; be patient and passionate about what you do.

What attracted you to your current job?

The role is so rewarding. I manage the entire marketing mix, above and below the line - plus the brand is so cool.

What was your finest hour?

My proudest moment so far was the pulling together of a big campaign at Smeg, culminating in a calendar of event-based activation at the Ideal Home Show and Grand Designs, focused on experiential brand awareness. This year I'm planning to go one better - watch this space...

What's your greatest ambition?

Developing the Smeg brand into an even more well-known, iconic appliance manufacturer.

If you were a brand, what would you be and why?

An Apple iPhone. I love technology, gadgets and having information at my fingertips.

What is your favourite ever marketing campaign?

I love thinking outside the box. Although there are classic ads from VW, Mercedes and Coca-Cola, my favourite campaign recently was Paddy Power's 'tweets in the sky', ambushing the Ryder Cup.

Do you have a marketing mentor?

Two spring to mind: an inspirational marketing lecturer at the University of Sunderland, and a former colleague in my last marketing role. Both of them are incredibly passionate about what they do. It's infectious.

Who is your most admired person in business?

Steve Jobs.

Brand new Samsung LED TV - or my iPad, of course.

What makes you angry?

Those who fail to put effort or commitment to projects.

What is your favourite pub?

My local, the Ladygrove.

What's your favourite holiday destination?

I love beaches and hot climates. Spain has to be up there with the best of them; further afield, Australia.

What does your perfect day involve?

It probably starts with playing on my iPhone or iPad, doing a bit of shopping, going to the gym, having a few beers and some great food.

If you could get tickets to any event, what would it be?

The World Cup Final.

What are the perks of your current job?

Meeting new people and visiting our head office in Italy.

If you had three wishes, what would they be?

To stay fit and healthy, own a nice new car and buy a beautiful house in the country.

What have been your best and worst freebies?

The best was a home-made branded Facebook cushion with a tag - Now you can relax in the knowledge that your social media is in good hands! Worst was branded mints that I couldn't even open. They sat staring at me for weeks.

What headline would you most like to read in Marketing?

Smeg featured on the front cover, for all the right reasons.
