Describe yourself in three words.
Starter, finisher, mum.
What would you be if you weren't a brand manager?
A primary school teacher.
When was your finest hour?
Receiving the call from LOCOG to say Hornby had been granted rights as an Official Supplier to London 2012, with proprietary brand status, after six months of conversations, idea-generation, concept design and discussion. I shed a tear of happiness on putting the phone down.
What's your greatest ambition?
Travel to Sweden and stay at the Ice Hotel, then on to the Abisko National Park to view the Aurora Borealis.
What marketing trend is dominating your job at the moment?
Social media. The ability to reach your target market at the press of a button and interact directly with them at little cost is staggering.
If you weren't you, who would you be?
Dame Kelly Holmes. She worked hard chasing her dream, and can now look back having achieved the ultimate – twice. She is always smiling.
What makes you angry?
Adults who are mean to children – pick on someone your own size.
What is your favourite pub?
As a northern lass, if it's selling a good pie, I'll put it at the top of my list.
What's your favourite holiday destination?
Cuba. Perfect beaches, phenomenal history and culture, and no Coca-Cola or McDonald's signs.
If you had three wishes, what would they be?
That my children find what makes them tick and get to spend their lives doing it; that just once, a result could be down to what you put into it, rather than external aspects you cannot control; that people stopped hitting 'reply all' when they send a 'thanks' email.
What have been your best and worst freebies?
Worst was a tea towel in the post – I don't remember what it was selling, but I gave it to someone who had just moved house. Best was a 'fireworks display in a box' that you light once... it lasted for ages. I was like a giddy child.
