As part of the agreement, Boxfresh will sponsor the Best New Band category during the nationwide NME tour and at the main event at the O2 Academy Brixton on 24 February 2012.
The awards are still in discussions to appoint a headline sponsor, although hair products manufacturer Shockwaves has sponsored the awards for the past seven years.
Jade Garrow, head of marketing at Boxfresh, said: "Boxfresh has a great musical heritage of supporting up and coming talent.
"The synergy between Boxfresh and NME is a perfect fit, and we're delighted to be supporting one of the most recognised and sought after awards in British music."
Among the line-up for the NME tour, which starts in Glasgow on 8 February, are Two Door Cinema Club, Metronomy, Tribes and Azealia Banks.
Last year's nominations for Best New Band saw artists including Beady Eye and The Drums competing against the eventual winner, Hurts.
