Former cricket star Ian Botham is to launch an events and sports

marketing agency called Mission Logistics.

Botham, England’s most successful ever all-rounder, will be chairman of

Mission with a 30% stake in the business. Mission’s co-founder is Duncan

March, a former Royal Marine and organiser of Botham’s most recent

charity walk across the UK.

Mission will offer sports sponsorship consultancy and organise events

for major brands. It will manage commercial opportunities for sports

celebrities.

Mission will also provide strategic consultancy and research for

clients.

March, Mission’s managing director, said Botham will have a hands-on

role: ’Ian has incredible contacts and we’re really going to use

them.’

Mission launches this month with clients including a supermarket chain

and a charity. It is backed by London-based direct marketing agency

Manifesto.

March said: ’The idea is to bring military logistics to a commercial

forum combined with Manifesto’s expertise.’
