The range was developed in conjunction with the BBC show's make-up artist Lisa Armstrong, and focuses on "creating fabulous colours, shimmers and glosses".

Products include a 'Christmas Sparkle & Shimmer' pack to retail at £18, which includes eye sparkles, diamante shimmer pots, lipstick and diamante; and a 'Strictly Fab-u-lous Dance Case' with a Latin flavour to retail at £40, which includes eyeshadows, blusher, mascara and lip colours.

A new series of 'Here come the girls' TV ads will also begin airing from today.

Boots yesterday posted strong results ahead of the Christmas period, with revenue growing 6% (6.6% in constant currency) to £8.9bn in the past six months. International branding remains a company focus.

A company statement read: "Our strategy to internationalise our product brands continues to move at a pace. Following the successful launch of the Boots Laboratories skincare product range in France and Portugal last year, we recently launched the range in the Italian market in partnership with Procter & Gamble.

"This partnership combines Procter & Gamble’s distribution capabilities with the trust and heritage of the Boots brand. In addition, we have launched the Boots Laboratories brand in Spain."
