Bookings for Christmas 2001 are strong with companies reporting
brisk business. The news confirms research by hospitality and marketing
agency Davies Tanner which shows that half of all Christmas events are
booked before April (Marketing Event, February).
The Ultimate Event Company (UEC) recently launched its season of
Christmas parties based at the Atmosphere Club on Euston Road, London.
Themes range from Heaven and Hell to futuristic and Mardi Gras. Capacity
ranges from 800 for a buffet to up to 300 for a sit-down dinner.
UEC managing director Sue Martineau said: "We have had excellent
feedback to this year's Christmas season. We have provisional bookings
on all the dates and six confirmations."
Mask sales manager Rachel Ollis said: "Bookings are going extremely
well. At the Mermaid Theatre we have sold out ten of the 15 nights. It
is a terrific start. In the smaller venues, 75% have been sold."
Elegant Days has launched its Christmas season at a number of London
venues. Chairman Eddie Hoare said: "We have sold just over 50% and that
is a little bit up on last year. People feel that whatever else they do,
they must organise the Christmas party. We have also done well on repeat
business."
The company's Alpine Christmas at the Commonwealth Institute is proving
to be the fastest selling programme. There is also the Kaleidoscope of
Colour at Excel and the Edwardian Christmas at the Royal Horticultural
Halls.
