BMI sponsors Arsenal

The UK’s second biggest airline, BMI, has secured a sponsorship deal with Premier League football champion Arsenal.

BMI would not disclose the fee but said the deal was the company's biggest sponsorship activity and its first with the sport.

The airline is to adopt the tagline "official airline of Arsenal" and use the club's logo, name, trademark and imagery on BMI marketing materials.

BMI will also have a presence at Arsenal's home ground at Highbury with perimeter advertising boards, logo display on media backdrops, home match programme advertising and hospitality packages.

Adrian Parkes, BMI’s commercial director said he was delighted by the partnership.

"The sense of history, strength and achievement is there as a common thread that links our two brands and this partnership can only breed one thing as a result - success," Parkes said.

Adrian Ford, Arsenal’s commercial director said the partnership brought together "two brands with a firm commitment to quality and a consistent delivery of results".

The deal also gives BMI access to Arsenal's supporter database, with the opportunity to offer flight promotions for fans travelling to matches.

Arsenal has about 2 million fans in the UK and a possible 30 million worldwide.
