Blyk, the free mobile phone network for 16 to 24-year-olds, is to offer recruitment services to its users.
Through the ad-funded mobile network, youth media recruiters can communicate directly with candidates who are interested in a new career.
Recruiters have the option of delivering an awareness campaign where a message is sent to Blyk members or an engagement campaign where members can respond directly to the advertiser via SMS or MMS.
Chris Bennett, commercial director Blyk UK, said Blyk's members wanted to hear from recruiters who can help them land their first job.
Gorilla Recruitment used a Blyk engagement campaign to source new employees in the media industry.
Throughout a two-month campaign, Blyk said that a total of 51% of members responded and of those 69% said they were looking for a new job in the media.
