Under the agreement, Business Supression's 700,000 goneaways will be added to Blue Sheep's 1.4m database of records. Both lists are called the Business Suppression File.
Vic Godding, managing director of Developing Data, one of Business Suppression's shareholders, said: "This move will go some way to reducing confusion in the business suppression marketplace. The addition of Blue Sheep's data content will significantly strengthen the Business Suppression file, making it the leading product of its kind."
Business Suppression, also backed by Mardev, Bonnier, QBase and e-crm, developed a list of 700,000 goneaways, with data from companies including Reed Business Information, The Prospect Shop and mailers National Pen and Waterlow Seton.
Ian Lovatt, joint managing director of Blue Sheep, said: "Blue Sheep's role in the UK business information market is to promote the holistic review of clients' databases and a product that sits solely in a single dimension of this is a distraction. We have, therefore, agreed to join forces with a specialist suppression agency to ensure clients achieve maximum coverage when looking to remove the dead content within a database."
