A rolling programme of 175,000 telephone interviews from offshore sties will be conducted each month until completion of the database next year. This will make the database, called Business Tracker, the UK's largest and most accurate business database on the market, the company claims.
"We are finding increasing inconsistency of business classification codes and employee numbers among the existing products," said Iain Lovatt, joint managing director of Blue Sheep. "With Business Tracker we can delivery consistent quality of data for analysis and profiling and retain control over its integrity."
The company aims to cover every workplace in the UK. The original source data includes the BT OSIS file and its own UK Business Universe file aggregated from seven different B2B data sources. This information is being telephone verified and new contact information gathered to provide a single, comprehensive UK workplace database.
As well as providing information about workplace locations and contact details it will also provide linkages with head offices, subsidiaries and branches.
"It is our goal to encompass every UK workplace regardless of size or location and to introduced methods of tracking business movement to avoid inaccuracies and duplication of information," added Lovatt.
Blue Sheep will incorporate the new database into its existing analysis and profiling services and the data is also being exclusively distributed by B2B data specialists CorpData.
Both companies are exhibiting at the International Direct Marketing Fair at Earl's Court 2 show on the same stand, 404.
