Blu eCigs devises London's first flavour-altering café

E-cigarette brand Blu eCigs is set to open a pop-up 'vape café' in London, which will offer a menu where sour tastes are turned sweet.

Using the miraculin berry, a natural taste-modifier that heightens sweet taste receptors on the tongue, the menu will focus on flavours inspired by the brand’s product range.

Those who visit the café and purchase an espresso will receive a miraculin tablet and sample plate of tart tastes, to test whether the berry can in fact alter the taste of foods. Smokers will receive a Blu eCigs product.

Customers can expect to experience plain yoghurt transformed to taste like vanilla ice cream, a lemon taste made into sweet lemonade, as well as cherry and blueberry flavour experiences.

Situated within Victorian toilet turned espresso bar The Attendant in central London, the pop-up café will open its doors for three days from 28 September, between the hours of 6.30pm and 8.30pm.

At the end of last year Blue eCigs teamed up with Bompas & Parr to at the Ice Tank Studio in London.
