BLM resigns Hallmark Channel business

BLM Media has parted company with cable and satellite TV station the Hallmark Channel after handling the £750,000 account for five years.

The agency said it has resigned the business due to a "disagreement over strategic direction".
Sources added that the relationship became troubled following owner Sparrowhawk's appointment three months ago of former Homechoice marketer Vicky Mitchell as marketing director. She is leaving the firm and being replaced by Maya Bhose, a former UKTV marketer.
In July Hallmark appointed Rosie Hill-Davies as its new managing director. She replaced David Elstein, who is concentrating on his role as chairman of Sparrowhawk. The firm also promoted Mark Lawrence to director of global programme acquisitions from his current role as director of planning and acquisitions.
Former Five chief executive Elstein bought the channel for an estimated $300m (£167m) in February last year as part of a venture capital bid, backed by investors 3i and Providence Equity Partners.
