The agency has hired Clay Gill, formerly a media manager at WPP's largest UK media agency, to take charge of communications planning on its Domino's Pizza, Setanta Sports, Thomas Cook and Young's Seafood accounts.
At MediaCom in London, Gill worked for three years on GSK brands including Lucozade, Panadol, Solpadeine and Aquafresh. Previously, he spent two years at MediaCom's Sydney office, working on the Universal Pictures and Boots Healthcare accounts. Gill will work closely with media strategist Martin Greenbank and Gavin Reeder, who was hired last year from Yahoo! to head BLM's digital strategy.
Gill's appointment brings the total number of strategists within the BLM group, which includes BLM Media and digital division BLM Quantum, to eight - all reporting to chief strategic officer Charlie Makin.BLM has invested heavily in a strategic business planning hub that works across all the agency's clients.
"Gill has an amazing aptitude for consumer insight and an invaluable depth of understanding of brand launches within the FMCG sector, a sector that BLM is moving into," Makin said.
