Blitz, which also has in-house teams at Excel London, Earls Court and Olympia, will initially have a dedicated team of three members of staff who will provide AV, lighting, staging and graphics services at the NEC. The team will be working on a range of events as part of this contract, including The Skills Show this November.

Paul Hutton, managing director at Blitz, said: "We are delighted to have been appointed as the NEC's partner, adding to our portfolio of leading UK venues.

"It provides the opportunity to deliver a cost-effective and extremely efficient service to organisers who use all of the UK's major venues and we are excited to be working with the NEC team to fulfil their proposition for live events."

Adrian Evans, the NEC's account director for conference and live events, added the new partnership with Blitz was a natural development for the venue.

"We've already got great event spaces to inspire creativity - an exciting proposition in its own right for our innovative clients - but being able to offer the technical expertise provided by the cutting edge team at Blitz further augments our experiential events package launched earlier this year," Evans said.

Graham Pope, sales director at Blitz, told Event the company has forecast growth for the next year, and is expecting to report £15m in turnover - a rise on last year's figure of £13.3m. "The company has reported year-on-year growth since 2009, and we have also expanded our team in the last 12 months by adding ten new members of staff, taking our total headcount to 120," he added.
