Big Brother's fake celeb Chantelle could become pop star

LONDON - Record firms are vying to get 'Celebrity Big Brother' housemate Chantelle to record the song that she pretended had been a hit when she had to fool other contestants into thinking she was a 'real' celebrity.

Chantelle, a jobbing Paris Hilton lookalike, had to pretend she had been a member of the girl band Kandyfloss ("with a K") and that they had had a hit with a song called 'I Want it Right Now'. Despite failing to remember many of the lyrics and her confusion over what chart position the record achieved, she succeeded in her mission and was allowed to stay in the house, with Big Brother telling her she was now a "real celebrity".

Now The Sun reports that record companies are keen to get Chantelle to release the track for real -- despite the fact that Chantelle has admitted that she can not sing.

The song was written by Colin Campsie, star of Go West, and his wife Beverley Craven, and was originally meant to be recorded by Kylie Minogue, the paper reports.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that Travelodge is hoping to sign the blonde from Essex up for an ad campaign based on the joke that she is a "budget" version of Paris Hilton, when friends revealed they called her Paris Travelodge.

After revealing that she had been pulling the wool over their eyes, Chantelle has been embraced by the other celebrities, and in the first set of nominations she was one of only two contestants who received no votes.

Meanwhile, Jodie Marsh remains the favourite to be booted from the house this evening. She is up against MP George Galloway and Pete Burns, the former Dead or Alive frontman.
