'Big Brother' called a housemate into the diary room after crimper Craig was evicted. On entering the diary room, Eugene, who just pipped Makosi to the request, was presented with a glass suitcase containing half of this year's prize money.
Eugene had 60 seconds to decide whether to keep the money or leave it. On deciding to pocket the £50,000, Terry Wogan-fan Eugene realised he had probably made a mistake.
"I've made my decision. It's probably a bad one but by doing this I suppose there are two winners," he said.
This being 'Big Brother', there was a twist. Eugene was not told that if he turned down the £50,000, the overall prize would rise to £200,000, nor that the other housemates could see him making his decision.
Meanwhile, The Sun today has exclusively revealed on its front page that Zimbabwean nurse Makosi is in fact a trained actress who was fast-tracked on to the show, with her agent receiving over £600 from 'Big Brother' makers Endemol for making her video.
The tabloid revealed that Makosi is signed for talent agency Envenio and her web page describes her as an "actress, presenter, compere and dancer", although her claim she is a qualified nurse is true and she hid her other career from her housemates.
The news is likely to anger those who failed to get a place in this year's 'Big Brother' because the show is meant for ordinary members of the public not actresses.
Pundits who bet on Makosi to win will be reeling on hearing the news, knowing their chances have been blown.
Channel 4 is launching an investigation into the claims.
Housemates have suspected Makosi of being a mole since the first week when she was set a secret task by Big Brother and acted strangely, claiming to the others she was a virgin. Later, she claimed she was pregnant.
Even best friend cross-dresser Kemal suspected her of being planted in the house to stir things up. One time in the diary room he asked Big Brother: "Who is Makosi?"
