Chef and food writer Jo Pratt will lead the 40-minute session, where she will demonstrate how to make a white chocolate cake using Betty Crocker ingredients.

In a bid to highlight how easily the brand’s products can be used to create baked goods, Pratt will be accompanied by television presenter and baking novice, Rachael Downie.

The broadcast is designed to promote the launch of the brand’s #askbetty hashtag, which encourages consumers to ‘Ask Betty’ for baking related tips and advice via social media. Throughout the broadcast Pratt will invite viewers to send baking-related questions through by using the new hashtag, which she will endeavour to answer during the live session.

This is the first in a series of live baking videos for the brand, with additional sessions to be released in the coming months.

Andrew Hardeman, digital marketing manager at General Mills, said: "We’re delighted to see Betty Crocker making its debut for a live online social broadcast. Our audience is increasingly digital and this campaign will reach them with useful content via a medium they’re comfortable with."
