Bestival activations: Samsung, Philips, Nandos and Co-op

This year's Bestival was brimming with brand activations, including Samsung's virtual reality (VR) experience and Nando's 'Rule the Roost' food truck.

The four-day festival, which kicked off yesterday (8 September) on the Isle of Wight, and ran until 11 September, featured the Samsung Hypercube experience. It enables up to 50 visitors at a time to immerse themselves in Biffy Clyro's latest music video, with both parties collaborating to produce what they say is the UK's first immersive music video using VR technology. The experience has toured other festivals this year, including Boardmasters and Glasgow Summer Sessions in August. 

Nando's Rule the Roost activation included its food truck - the Cock o'Van, which hosted impromptu performances alongside serves of Peri-Peri chicken. Co-op meanwhile, hosted a 'Mix Kitchen' in the Magic Meadow area, offering festival-goers the chance to be treated to a hand-picked dining experience of their choice, cooked fresh by Co-op’s food mixologists, using a wide selection of healthy, delicious produce. Mix Kitchen DJs were on hand to stimulate the senses for diners, with music ranging from dub to tropical and bass, deep acid and future funk to hip hop and house.

Spirit brand Jägermeister showcased its JägerHaus installation, which included live acts and DJs. as well as artwork combining forest and stag imagery. Visitors were able sample a range of drinks including Root56 or Black Spice in The Backyard, alongside ice cold Jäger shots. 

For the ultimate in pampering, Philips sent grooming experts around the site offering men the opportunity to trim, edge and shave their facial hair with OneBlade products as well as offering mirrors, towels and shaving foam to give men the best grooming experience possible. The Huffington Post also hosted 'zen dens', treating festival-goers to yoga and chakra sessions.
