Best signed up as Kangaroo ad chief

Project Kangaroo, the video-on-demand joint-venture being developed by BBC Worldwide, ITV and Channel 4, has hired a consultant to head up its ad sales.

Daniel Best has joined Vodco, the holding company set up by the partners to launch Kangaroo, on a consultancy basis to initiate commercial discussions for the VoD platform.

Best was formerly commercial director of sales in Europe for Double Fusion, the in-game advertising consultancy, and has also been online commercial manager at The Independent.

A BBC Worldwide spokesman said further appointments would be made after Ashley Highfield takes up his role as chief executive on 1 July. It is thought that Best is looking at how the model for display and sponsorship ad sales for the site would fit with each individual partner's activities.
