Marketing director Matthew Pullen is to leave at the end of next month to join Dulux-owner Akzo Nobel, where he will take up a senior marketing position within the company.
Pullen joined the poultry products brand in 2004 as marketing controller and oversaw its marketing-led fightback, following a high-profile avian-flu outbreak at one of its farms in Suffolk in 2007. This year he was responsible for resurrecting the brand’s ‘Bootiful’ slogan for a £5m campaign, created by ad agency Isobel.
Last week, Bernard Matthews’ managing director, Jeff Halliwell, left the business after just over a year in the role. His previous positions include managing director of Fox’s Biscuits, as well as senior marketing roles at Cow & Gate and Pedigree.
The post had been vacant for 18 months following the departure of Bart Dalla Mura, who set up a consultancy.
