So what's all the fuss you may be asking? Well, as we all know, Wegener has been building a reputation for keeping it 'real' - with its REALmotivations, REALsoho, REALwealth and REALfile products.
The message - as explained by its PR bods - is that there is a difference in this world between real and modelled data, and Wegener's is most certainly the genuine article.
So, shock horror, what did we see on Equifax's stand at the IDMF- yes, a suspiciously similar piece of marketing. "Real data not fuzzy data" said a panel on its stand. Spooky.
Wegener's Suzanne Soper said: "We are pleased to see that others are taking up the mantra of 'real' data. Of course Equifax doesn't collect from surveys direct from consumers, rather it collects information from other sources. If Equifax is insistent on following our lead, then they too have to be able to be fully transparent. Are they sure that it can make the grade?"
Meeeow! Dust off those handbags ...
