Beeb ventures, the new media company set up by BBC Worldwide and TH Li, has promoted Regan Hook to head marketing for its online shopping portal, beeb.com, and free ISP, beeb.net.
Hook, 38, takes over from Lesley Henry, who left to join Telewest as head of broadcast interactivity (Marketing, January 4).
Hook joined beeb ventures last September as head of customer relationship management. She was previously a database marketing consultant at TBWA/GGT Direct, where she worked on the NatWest business.
She has also held various data management roles at FCB Worldwide-owned Analytic and in BT's customer communications unit.
Hook will oversee a marketing budget of about pounds 7m and will take a fresh look at beeb ventures' communication and advertising requirements, but she denied reports that a formal review is taking place.
Creative for beeb.com is handled by In Real Life, with media strategy by Michaelides & Bednash and buying by New PHD.
Last September, beeb.com made its first foray into paid-for TV advertising with ads based on the Ladybird How it Works children's books (Marketing, September 14, 2000).
