B|Com3 chiefs to net $300m bonus from Publicis takeover

LONDON - The top four executives at B|Com3 are to receive more than $300m (拢206m) between them when Publicis Groupe completes its $3bn takeover to form the world's fourth-largest advertising group.

The executives are: chairman and CEO Roger Haupt; president and chief operating officer Craig Brown; former vice-chairman Richard Fitzdale; and former chairman Roy Bostock.

The deal, expected to be completed next month, was announced in March this year when the French group sensationally acquired B|Com3, passing over the smaller Cordiant Communications, which had previously been seen as a possible Publicis takeover target.

Publicis chairman Maurice Levy instigated the deal back in October when he and Haupt decided that the three super-networks -- Interpublic Group of Companies, Omnicom and WPP Group -- were becoming too powerful.

The deal will also see Japanese giant Dentsu, which holds a 22% stake in B|Com3, take a 15% stake in Publicis.
