BBH wins Grand Prix for Barnardo's in IPA Effectiveness event

Bartle Bogle Hegarty and BMP DDB shared the top honours at this year's IPA Effectiveness Awards.

BBH collected the Grand Prix with its case study for Barnardo's and was named Effectiveness Agency of the Year for shops billing below £100 million for accumulating the most points for three of its papers - Barnardo's, Lynx and Olivio/Bertolli.

BMP won the title for agencies billing more than £100 million for the combined successes of six of its papers including Budweiser, Hovis, Marmite, Volkswagen UK, Volkswagen Passat and Milk.

The awards, which attracted 61 entries from 33 agencies, were shortlisted by a panel of industry experts. A client jury chaired by Lord MacLaurin, the Vodafone chairman, made the final selection.

This year's competition broke new ground by allowing media-neutral and integrated campaigns to compete for awards.

The judges cited Barnardo's success at transforming its image over the past two-and-a- half years to draw in a younger and more valuable base of donors as the reason for the Grand Prix award.
